The Covenant of Mayors Investment Forum - Energy Efficiency Finance Market Place showcases successful projects on financing climate adaptation, energy efficiency, clean mobility and energy planning, as well as initiatives working across Europe to facilitate the market for climate and sustainable energy finance. C-Track 50 was part of this year’s event in Brussels, to present its work on innovative sustainable energy planning.
During the first half of the project lifetime, after a series of roundtables with national and regional stakeholders in 11 EU countries, C-Track 50 has developed recommendations on national energy policy priorities for 2050. On top of this, these recommendations also focus on improving multi-level governance collaboration between stakeholders at all levels, horizontally and vertically, to further facilitate the transition towards carbon neutrality by 2050. Key results were presented to public authorities, as well as to stakeholders from business and financial institutions from across Europe during the innovative sustainable energy planning breakout session on the 19th of February. Moreover, the lessons learnt from working at the local level towards carbon neutrality were provided through the Croatian experience, as well as best practices regarding data collection and analysis and alternative financial schemes (e.g. crowd funding and revolving funds).
The Covenant of Mayors Investment Forum – Energy Efficiency Finance Market Place is organised by the European Commission's Directorates-General for Energy and Climate Action and EASME together with the Covenant of Mayors.
