What way forward for European regions and cities in the energy transition towards a climate neutral Europe by 2050? This question took centre stage during the C-Track 50 high level even on “Implementing the Paris Agreement: EU cities and regions in energy transition” taking place during this year’s European Week of Regions and Cities in Brussels on 9 October 2019.

The C-Track 50 project is co-organising a session on “Implementing the Paris Agreement: EU cities and regions in energy transition” during the European Week of Regions and Cities (EWRC), on 9 October 2019 in Brussels. This year’s EWRC will take place on 7-10 October under the headline "Regions and Cities: Pillars of the EU's Future".

The event was realised in the Residence Palace Maelbek room, which was vibrating from the interest of the high number of participants. Attendees had the opportunity to become familiar with the activities of the featured projects, gaining useful information for the role of local authorities. Targeted presentation were held by Rainer Handfinger (Sustainable local development), Danilo di Pietro (Strengthening local authorities in sustainable energy and climate adaptation planning), Patrick Biard (How to achieve multilevel governance for Carbon Neutrality by 2050) and Tomislav Pukšec (Multi stakeholder engagement).
