The 5th project meeting of C-Track 50, realised in Poznan, Poland, on the 12th and 13th of February 2020, aimed at discussing the work progress over the last 5 months and present the overall results achieved so far. The upcoming steps and work planning for the months to come were also in the discussion focus. The ongoing tasks with the collaborating municipalities concern the provision of technical support for the formulation of the Regional/Local Energy and Climate Policy Plans for 2050, as well as on the facilitation of funding access for key priority projects they have.
The project meeting was realised back to back with a capacity building activity on innovative financing tools and mechanisms for selected case study examples from the C-Track 50 countries. Within the framework of this capacity building event, the role of third-party financing and public private partnership in projects implemented by municipalities has been presented along with innovative funding tools from the Rhone Alps region. In addition, presentations have been implemented regarding the case of energy cooperatives from Neustadt an der Waldnaab County in Germany, the financing instruments beyond subsidies in Spain and the innovative financing instruments from Madeira, Portugal. Citizens role in energy transition (crowdfunding in PV systems) and C-Voucher (Circular value chains within Regional Strategies for European Innovation) were some of the other topics discussed during this session.
